He recognised early on that reggae had a unique spiritual energy deep, resonant, and powerful. It spoke truth. It carried weight. And when infused with the message of Christ, it became a life-changing force. This revelation has shaped his entire career.
In the late 1990s, he stepped into DJ’ing with a mission—not to seek fame, but to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His name, DJ Proclaima, was chosen intentionally. It wasn’t about performance; it was about purpose.
DJ Proclaima—also known as Bernard Reilly—is one of the UK’s most established and influential Gospel Reggae DJs, celebrating over 25 years of ministry through music. Known for his uplifting energy, clean Caribbean-inspired sound, and strong Christ-centered message, he has become a respected voice in the international gospel reggae community.
His journey began in the late 1990s, inspired by a powerful blend of worship, reggae, dancehall, and Caribbean gospel. While many DJs focused on entertainment, Bernard felt called to use music as a tool for ministry. That mission became his identity, and the world soon began recognising the name DJ Proclaima a DJ committed to proclaiming the Gospel through sound.
